I am Yun Taebin, director.
Beside our clinic's name stands the phrase age management, not anti-aging.
They look similar, but to me they are quite different.
The word 'anti' troubled me
Anti-aging means standing against aging.
But is growing older really something to be fought and erased?
The years cannot be erased. You can make them look erased, but such a face is rarely natural.
The view of managing
I see it as handling age.
Finding you at your best at the age you are now. Not turning you into someone else, but finding the most comfortable point within the face you already have.
So at consultation I ask not only what you want, but what you want to keep.
What is addressed differs by decade
Even the same word — management — means different things at different ages.
In the thirties and forties it centres on slowing the rate at which firmness begins to fall; in the fifties and sixties, on deciding how far to restore a structure that has already descended.
The question differs with each period, so the answer must differ too.
Why we keep the range of methods wide
Even for the same sagging, the answer differs.
If skin texture is the problem, a booster or laser may be enough. If the structure has descended, threads or surgery may be needed. If concerns around the eyes and the jawline exist together, an order has to be decided.
Only by keeping a wide range of methods can you avoid fitting the person to the method. That is why we handle both surgery and non-surgical care.
Saying you don't have to
From the view of management, there are times when it is better not to do anything now.
There is no reason to choose a method with a heavy recovery when the change is not urgently needed. At such times, I say so.
Waiting for the right time is part of management too. The decision not to act today is recorded, and when the time comes we take it up again.
Taking the long view
A face is not completed by one decision. As time passes the condition changes, and so does the method that suits it.
Not a relationship that ends after one visit, but being the doctor who still remembers your condition as the years pass. That is what I want to do under the name age management.
Results and recovery vary between individuals for every procedure and operation. Which method suits you can only be judged after assessment, so you are welcome to come with nothing but your concerns.
